During 2000, CCEI hosted three technical workshops.  In February, Mt. San Antonio College hosted a PACE SMT technical session.  In March,  Modesto High School hosted a Heath sponsored Information Technology Career Paths workshop.  In December, Merced College hosted a CISCO Academy familiarization workshop.

Kicking off 2001, Bill Findley of  Arroyo Grande High School in Arroyo Grande, CA (on the Gold Coast of California) hosted the "Parallax BASIC Stamp Educators Course"  This one day workshop covered the programming and use of the Parallax  BASIC Stamp Microcontroller.  The workshop was taught by Parallax's Andy Lindsey.  The workshop was held on Feb. 3rd, 2001.  The workshop was free to CCEI members in good standing.  Lunch was  provided by CCEI.  For more information about the BASIC Stamp Microcontroller chip and available educational materials and programs, go the Parallax Web Site (http://www.stampsinclass.com) and check this device out.

On May 12th, 2001, CCEI sponsored a Photovoltaics Workshop hosted by Ken Hanson and Doug Foster.  The workshop was held at Cerritos College in Southern California.  This workshop was of particular interest in light (or should I say in dark) of the present electrical power situation being faced by California. 

Topics included the Roots of Present Infrastructure for the Distribution of Electrical Power, Overview of Photovoltaic Applications by Joel Davidson of SOLutions, Discovery of the Photoelectric Effect to Present  Photovoltaic Manufacturing Technology by Arthur Rudin, Types of Photovoltaic Systemsby Gord Petroski, Government Buy Down Programs/ Subsidies/School Grants by Don Cresse, How to Size A Solar System by Samson Alemayehu,  and Student Photovoltaics Projects/ Resources by Greg Schultz.  

On April 13th, 2002, Tom Cecil hosted a Parallax robotics workshop at Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA. and in August 2003, Bill Findley hosted a Parallax for Educators workshop at Arroyo Grande High School in Arroyo Grande, CA.
