I presented a proposal to the CCEI Board of Directors on Saturday, May 18, concerning our involvement in providing technical sessions at the CITEA Annual
Conference in March of 2003. I am happy to say that the Board approved our involvement and we appreciate your invitation for us to join you in this effort. We see this involvement of mutual benefit to both our
organizations. You are probably aware that we are suffering from lower membership numbers primarily due to the downsizing of electronics programs all across California. We are very interested in reaching out to those
instructors that teach electronics on all levels, and especially those who have part-time assignments in electronics at their schools.
To that end, we are starting a project of developing a CCEI-sponsored electronics
curriculum that can be provided to new and part-time electronics
instructors who need help in setting up a successful electronics program. There is a vast amount of experience and expertise within the membership of
CCEI, and I believe this is an area where we can make a positive contribution. Having said that, we would like to introduce this curriculum at your March conference and be able to provide it to all that attend our
technical sessions. We are in the early planning stages of this effort, but I will keep you informed of our progress.
If you or any members of your committee have any comments or feedback concerning the type of
electronics sessions you would like to see at your conference, please contact me. I'm looking forward to working with all of you in the coming months.
